Hand-carved from a single piece of wood, the Tonga stool is a genuine artifact. These stools were status symbols for elders of the nomadic Tonga people of Zimbabwe. They carry significant meaning for the Tonga people, then and now.
Each is carved to incorporate unique lines, shapes, and patterns, making it easy to transport and breath-taking. Traditionally, only the head of the household could own and take his place on a Tonga stool. Women were prohibited from sitting on stools. Observing a man’s chair can easily weave together a story about the owner and his position in the broader community. These chairs are surprisingly comfortable for rest, work, and formal meetings.

When placing your order after 3 pm, we cannot guarantee same-day service, and your order will be ready the following day when we reopen.

Many large-scale items on ah-bohd.ca may be available for viewing in our showroom and are considered floor models, yet do not show stock availability on our website. Many of our floor models are not for immediate purchase from the floor but suppose you see a floor model you like; we will be happy to order you a new one. Alternatively, we offer floor model sales randomly throughout the year, where you can pick up that favourite find for a great deal.
You can contact us ahead of time to inquire about the availability of an object on our showroom floor for purchase or viewing.
NOTE: Please note that if you have items in your cart that are eligible for different shipping or delivery options, your cart will default to one of the available options. If you wish to have an item eligible for shipping shipped, you will have to create individual carts to make this happen. Alternatively, suppose you want delivery and have an item(s) with shipping or in-store pick-up; in that case, you will be able to have all items delivered if they qualify for delivery. Almost all items are available for free in-store pick up at ah-bohd Home Store.

For items that are currently not in stock and tagged as a preorder, you will be notified with a stock date, and we will ship the item(s) within one business day of receiving the item at ah-bohd Home Store from our supplier.
Currently, we only offer to ship within Canada. Free local pick-up is available for all our in-stock products, and we offer free local white glove delivery within our delivery radius. We will be happy to quote delivery outside our free delivery radius at sales@ah-bohd.ca.
